Criteria

We landed on a few criteria that helped us clarify our intentions, which have guided our choices and will continue to do so.  

1. We will do this as long as we enjoy it and/or our family members are healthy.  We hope in both cases, that is a long time. 
2. We put a high value on having experiences and time to learn.   We will be comfortable, but expect to do without some comforts. 
3. To make #2 possible, we want to work less.  Therefore we expect to make less, and spend less.   We both enjoy working and want to continue having that as part of our lives. Our goal is a mix that averages out to: 3 days on, 3 days off, and a floater day. 
4. We don't want to sell our lifestyle to make a living. If this blog becomes a book and speaking tour - we are all doomed!
5. We are at our best when we are outside.  We want to be outside a lot.  We like sunshine;  we don't like the cold.  
6. As long as Rufus is with us, we will stay in the US and in places that are dog-friendly. We want her along for the ride for as long as possible.
