2016 Itinerary — To whoever is not listening to the sea

We've learned a few things planning the stops in our travels. Because we need places for 4-8 weeks, that are pet friendly, have good internet access, and are close to good hiking, we need to reserve 5-7 months in advance. (We were surprised by this last September.... and then again in January. We are slow learners. ) Our budget generally makes slightly off-season visits to slightly less popular places the way to go. Last July, I don't think we would have predicted staying in any of the places we've ended up putting on our itinerary. Yet, we are really excited by every place that's on the list. Once you start looking into it, there is a lot to do and explore just about everywhere.

As of this writing, our 2016 itinerary is:

Jan - Feb: Joshua Tree, CA
March: Tuscon, AZ
April - May: Munds Park, AZ
June: Sante Fe, NM
July - Aug: Cortez, CO
Sept - Oct: Asheville, NC
Nov - Dec: Charlottesville, VA
